Ubisoft’s Jean Guesdon, Creative Director of video game franchise Assassin’s Creed, gives a peek behind the industry curtain and shows educators how they can harness the engagement factor of games. 

Jean is a veteran designer with almost 20 years of experience in creative industries. After starting his career in traditional toys, he took the leap into interactive play and joined Ubisoft Montréal in 2005, becoming part of the original Assassin’s Creed team.  

As one of the key members of the franchise, he was deeply involved in the conception of all Assassin’s Creed games on all platforms, as well as novels, comics, short movies, and licensing. He was also the Creative Director of the Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. 

Jean later directed Assassin’s Creed Origins with one clear goal: refresh the Assassin’s Creed experience. The game was a critical and commercial success, and introduced the very first educational mode of the franchise: Discovery Tour: Ancient Egypt.
