Winruk Canyon
Winruk Canyon is located in the Western Reaches of Karaz Island, home of the Mages. The wide canyon runs from the mainland, near the twin mountains, to the coast.
The canyon consists of both bone-dry cliffs and the waters of the Zaeka River, which flow through it from end to end. Sparse vegetation grows within the canyon.
The largely enclosed cliffs trap in heat — both from the sun and from the lava that still flows hot from the nearby Mount Zaeka into the river. The closer the river gets to the coast, the more the water cools and the lava disperses, as is common with other parts of the river.
Rumor has it that Winruk Canyon is home to ancient ruins, lost over time due to occasional sinkholes.
