Flora & Fauna

Raptals

Raptals are reptiles that dwell near forests and sources of water.

Appearance

An adult raptal is about the height of a human when standing on its four legs. Its skin is covered with large scales in shades of blue, purple, or green.

Freshwater raptals usually have darker and duller scales whereas sea raptals have brighter scales. Their white eyes glow softly in the dark, which they use as a mean to lure in their prey.

Ecology

Raptals live near large bodies of water in temperate climates. There are different families of freshwater and sea raptals. Freshwater raptals dwell in forests near lakes and rivers. Seawater raptals prefer islands and stony beaches where there are few humans.

Their diet is composed mainly of various types of fish and small amphibians. They may chase away humans or other large creatures who enter their territories, but they rarely seek battle.
