Sprites
Sprites are intelligent, incorporeal creatures found across the Solea Islands. They’re most commonly seen on Elda Island, most likely due to the abundance of crystals and etheria.
Able to mimic the world around them, sprites can change forms based on their environment and power.
Appearance
Over time, sprites have sparked the curiosity of the Voek and other tribes. Although they’re shapeshifters, one can sometimes see sprites in their natural state: a floating ball of light and mist.
Over the course of a sprite’s existence, its appearance can vary greatly. When a sprite forms a bond with a human, its shape may change as their companion’s magic or talents increase. As such, their form evolves to match their companion’s power, attitude, and focus.
History
Sprites have existed as far as human history has been recorded.
Ecology
While the exact nature of the relationship is unclear, sprites appear most commonly in areas dense with brightly colored vegetation called etheria. They seem to be attracted to the plants’ magical energy.
Over the years, scholars have also noted that sprites are also very responsive to crystals. They can be found in great numbers around crystal formations and deposits.
Society and Culture
Sprites are joyful and carefree creatures, but with limited means of communicating, it’s difficult to understand what their purpose is or what their society is like. They sometimes bond with a human, following them in their adventures or through their life. This strong bond is generally considered unbreakable.
